Upcoming update

Hey everyone!

Due to the explosion in daily players of friendly fire, I feel obligated to put out an update soon that will deal with the replay-ability issue to make sure that players from then on will have a more rewarding experience.

Since save states are still a technical nightmare, I will implement a "New Game +" option after beating the game once, that will drop the player mid game to skip most of the early hassle. That way, it will be a lot easier to check out the other endings without having to play through the beginning each time.

As a little cherry on top I will also add a new optional ending, so keep an eye out for that as well :)

Cheers!

Maybe I'm blind but I jsut downloaded the current version and even after doing ending b and c, I still see no new game+.
still have to start the game normally right from the portal as usual :-/

Hey! That update is not yet released and is still in the works. I hope I can come around to it soon. That will also include a lot more endings and content throughout :)

Love the game! I am looking forward to this update. Since there is a speed running community, I wanted to ask if there was a way you could maybe add a Replay system, or a sort of built in TAS - slowing down the game for more precision.

Anyway, love the game and keep up the good work!

Updates in regards to speedrunning like you asked won't be possible, I'm a afraid. I have barely enough time to work on this update aside from my other projects and that update wasn't even planned to begin with :) So, sorry! But I didn't know there was an active speedurnning community. Gotta check that out later!

Too bad, I am sure some creative people could create a TAS if the source code would be publik, not saying it should be. Anyway, here is the speedrun.com link https://www.speedrun.com/friendly_fire

oh, the source IS public, The game is completely open source. So, if anyone wants to tinker around with it, that's perfectly fine! The code is a jumbled mess, but that's to be expected from a frankenstein project that was mostly cobbled together in a three day jam :) https://github.com/friendlyfiregame/friendlyfiregame/

Thanks for the speedrun link!

Oh, looking forward to the update! This is legitimately one of my favorite games I've come across on itch so seeing a new ending will be fun!
