Sick Business was our entry of Ludum Dare #44. We didn't distribute it here yet, so: here you go :) Better late than never. Have fun!

----

You just started in the hospital business. To get things running you borrowed some money from the Mafia. In return they expect increasing amounts of interest from you as the doctor and CEO. So it’s up to you to keep the cash flowing, no matter the cost, or your business will be closed down! But beware, the police is not too keen on seeing body bags being dragged around the streets…

Accept only rich patients? Send away those too weak to be healed easily? Actually diagnose patients and treat them effectively, or just sell them the most expensive treatment? Whatever keeps the business afloat and doesn't look too suspicious. Play as the doctor you always wanted but never had and make the world a better place, or harvest all the organs you can get your hands on only to sell them to the highest bidder - in the end it's all up to you.

Sick Business - We care a lot (about money...)

I really like this game, but I do wish that there was a way to tell the manager when to burn the bodies. The mini-games of what you call "treatments" are quite silly and enjoyable.

just like my job in real life

I come back to this game quite often because I think it's an amazing concept! I would love to see this turned into a full game, or at least to have a survival mode because the scoring system does not reflect that (if you complete the goal faster you score lower).

very awesome games but the waiting in mini game is too long

This game NEEDS a full steam-worthy version, too good of an idea to pass up just as a jam game

Someone needs to make a spinoff of this game with upgrades.

I stole someone's kidney to give it to another person suffering kidney failure in a run that otherwise didn't have kidney stealing.  Besides the trolley problem, you have a great game!

port to anroids?

the high performer level is ironically more relaxed, mostly because you just have to be a good doctor

true lol

Very nice, really cool presentation and music. Ended up playing a lot longer than I thought I would.

My main feedback would be that the "Prescribe Drugs" minigame felt very random. Like the momentum of the pill didn't quite match what I thought it would? Either way, cool game!

Thanks :) Yeah, the minigames were implented rather quick & dirty (since it's a jam game) and they weren't really revisted since then. Thanks anyway for playing!

Duke.... You make amazing games :D I've played every single one :D I hope you get more credit and get more players.

Thanks a bunch for the kind words :) I'll forward the praise to the rest of the team

I did a "speedrun" of this game. The challenge was to perform all medical options(including diagnose) on a Rich person without anyone else dying. I did it in 2:44 and came close to another rich person dying but did it before they died. Reply if you beat me at an AllIn1%(the name ive made for this speedrun).

So I speed run it and this is my score...

Don't know if I won you or not but oh well.

I was pretty excited when i saw you posted this game, and it didn't let me down.

Full of the Dry Witty Humor I've come to expect and is the kind of game that makes you just loose track of time.

Its a shame there are only 2 levels, i feel like i had just gotten the hang of the controls and gameplay, and then suddenly it was all over.

Would love it if there where more levels to mess around with.

Great concept for a game

that i could easily loose a lot of time too.

Thanks for playing this one as well :) This was the first jam game I was personally involved in. It really lacks content to keep you playing but since it's the core of the game is really inflexible, there isn't much that can be done to improve upon it without having to rewrite the whole game from scratch. But great to hear that you enjoyed it nonetheless :)
